What are the power requirements?

The X-Carve Pro plugs into a standard non-GFCI/GFI 120v outlet. Industrial-grade CNC machines that allow for the spindle speed to be controlled by the operator are powered by Variable Frequency Drives that are not compatible with GFCI outlets. In Canada you are required to use it with the Primary 120VAC, 50/60 Hz., Secondary 120VAC transformer included with your X-Carve Pro purchase.

We do recommend the X-Carve Pro is on its own circuit, but the VFD for the spindle is integrated into the controller, so you'll only have one plug to put in your outlet.

What is the amp draw?

The rated amperage is 5 amps, and it will work on a standard 20 amp breaker, but it is capable of running on a standard 15A circuit. The actual amperage draw will depend on the project and cut settings

What is the temperature rating?

The X-Carve Pro recommended operating temperature rating is between 0°C - 40°C.

Why is the Canadian CSA version of the X‑Carve Pro priced higher than the U.S. version?

A). U.S. Dollar vs Canadian Dollar Exchange Rate

The exchange rate between USD and CAD plays a major role in pricing.

1 USD ≈ 1.4 CAD after banking fees.

B). Shipping & Logistics

Machines shipped to Canada incur additional transport costs: cross-border freight, customs handling, and domestic distribution. These logistical layers naturally add to the landed cost for the U.S. machine sold in Canada.

C). Extensive CSA Certification Costs

The Canadian X‑Carve Pro received full CSA approval, requiring rigorous testing, documentation, and electrical safety compliance under Canadian standards. Those certification efforts incurred substantial engineering and administrative costs, which aren't required for the U.S. version.

D). Modified Components & Configuration

The CSA model includes specific hardware modifications that differ from the U.S. version. These changes sometimes involve costlier components and assembly techniques to meet CSA requirements.

While the Canadian list price appears higher, the Canadian CSA-approved version is tailored to meet Canadian regulatory standards, with built-in compliance and safety requirements.
